Paint Shop Pro 7 - Creating Paper Textures
| 1 |
|
Select any image you want
that is already made or create your own. I just grabbed the below image
from another tutorial and converted it to greyscale. (Colors>Greyscale) |

| 2 |
|
What you want to end up
with is a seamless tile. You will have to create that after you create
your design. I chose to use the Effects included in Paint Shop Pro 7 to
create my design.
I applied the Kaleidoscope and the Feedback
effects located under Effects>Reflection Effects>Kaleidoscope and
Feeback. You can create your pattern any way you like. |

| 3 |
|
I then selected a
rectangular area in about the middle of the image and went to
Selections>Convert to Seamless Pattern. If your selection is too
close to the edges of the image you will be notified to move your
selection away from the edges.
Once you have your seamless tile, as shown
below, save it to your Paint Shop Pro 7 Textures folder with a .bmp
extension. (Normally located at C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint
Shop Pro 7/Textures/) |

|
Now when you use any of
the Paint tools you can use your new paper texture. |

| 5 |
|
As soon as you save your
paper texture to the textures folder it becomes available for you to
use.
Below is an example of creating a seamless tile
with my new paper texture. I created a new image 200 X 200 pixels and
used the Paint Brush tool with different colors to create the image
below.
I then created a rectangular selection and went
to Selections>Create Seamless Pattern. |

|
My seamless tile is below
and just below that a table with my new paper texture as a seamless tile
background. |

The paper textures are
also available from the Textures menu under Effects>Textures |

The Brightness/Contrast was adjusted on my
texture to achieve the effect on the left.
