Paint Shop Pro 7 - Raised Text
Sometimes just the right effect for text is text that is
raised from a background.
| 1 |
|
Start with the
texture/background you want to raise your text from. |

| 2 |
|
Add your text using the
text tool. A thick font works best. Make sure Selection is checked in
the text tool dialog.
Once you have the text go to
Selections>Invert
Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow and
use the following settings:
- Shadow color = Black
- Vertical = 4
- Horizontal = -4
- Blur = 8
|

| 3 |
|
Go to
Selections>Invert
Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow and
use the following settings:
- Shadow color = White
- Vertical = -4
- Horizontal = 4
- Blur = 5
|

| 4 |
|
Go to
Selections>Invert
Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow and
apply the following settings:
- Shadow color = White (you can use black
depending on your texture color)
- Vertical = 1
- Horiztonal = -1
- Blur = 8
|

| 5 |
|
Now you can leave the
text on your background or you can separate it from the background and
use it stand alone. If you want to use it stand alone:
Go to Edit>Copy and then Edit>Paste as New
Image |

That's all there is to it. Quick and easy
text that matches your background/texture design exactly.
