Paint Shop Pro 7's Red-Eye Filter

With the release of Paint Shop Pro 7 photo editing capabilities have become extremely easy. One of the powerful photo editing tools is the Red-Eye Remover.

Removing Red-Eye has never been easier.

1.  Open your image in Paint Shop Pro 7.

2.  From the Effects menu choose Enhance Photo and go to the very bottom of that command panel to Red-eye Removal.

3.  You have a few options here once the Red-eye dialog comes up. You can use the Auto Human Eye setting for a quick fix.

4.  Pick the color eye you want from the Hue command on the right. You'll see a preview of your choice in the Color preview box.

5.  Set the Glint lightness, Glint size and the Pupil lightness.

The image in the preview on the right will immediately show the changes you make so that you can get just the right correction before applying it to the image. If you don't like your selection or what you've done with an eye you can use the Undo Eye command to start over. This takes all of about a few seconds to remove Red-Eye from an image.

The Red-Eye Removal tool also has settings for animals.

Follow the same procedures above with the exception of using the Auto Animal Eye instead of the Auto Human Eye.

This is a really cool tool and is one of the new tools included in Paint Shop Pro 7. Removing Red-Eye couldn't be any easier and the real plus is it's included right in Paint Shop Pro 7. You don't have to use a plug in for this functionality!

NOTE:  The photos used in this tutorial were obtained from the Paint Shop Pro 7 Tutorial folder located on the Paint Shop Pro 7 CD.
